Effect Of Temperature On Steel Tape Measure

The main structure of the steel tape is the whole steel strip with certain elasticity. The steel strip has the characteristic of expansion in heat and contraction in cold.

(1) When the temperature of both the standard steel tape and the tested steel tape is 20%, the dimensional error caused by temperature is zero.

(2) When the standard steel tape and the steel tape are of the same material and the same temperature, the size error caused by temperature is directly proportional to the coefficient of thermal expansion and temperature.

(3) When the standard steel tape and the tested steel tape are made of the same material and at different temperatures, the dimensional error caused by temperature is directly proportional to the coefficient of thermal expansion and the two-foot temperature difference.

(4) When the materials of standard steel tape and the steel tape are different and the temperature is the same, the dimensional error caused by temperature is directly proportional to the difference of coefficient of thermal expansion and the temperature of two feet.

(5) When the materials and temperatures of the standard steel tape and the tested steel tape are different, the size error caused by the temperature is proportional to the difference of the coefficient of thermal expansion and the temperature of the two feet.
